Something to crow about

Don't you think Mr. Crow is handsome with his glittered beak. I love the Martha glitter at Michael's

BOO

Started to get some of the Halloween decorations out. Aren't these cute. I just love the little bat boy with his tummy hanging out.
The dog has a cape and witch hat on. My dog daughter is a black lab. Behind the witch is a Junk Fairy Wand I got from artsymama.

Bloglandia Ball

I'm going to the ball. The Bloglandia Ball hosted by eb. When I first read about the ball my all time favorite song in the world came to mind. Moondance by Van Morrison. I know I just gave away my age. I of course rushed right in and came up with this little number. But the more I thought about the song and what I would really wear I decided this was not for me. I'm really not a bling kinda gall. And besides my hips are way to big for a drop waist.
The real me is very simple. Old lace, classic style. After all there is a Bohemian side of me that will never fade. Never dress to impress others, dress to express your creative side. So I'm off to the ball, lace handbag over my shoulder. I feel like kicking up my heals. See you there.

Paper Dress Swap

I joined the dress swap at jeweled elegance. The rules were to make 2 dresses. 1 needed to be either Halloween or fall theme. The other your choice. Katrina is my partner. She lives in Australia and they don't celebrate Halloween. I came up with a fall one. If I do say so myself I think it came out cute. Sometimes I surprise myself.
Since it is spring in Australia and Katrina loves pink. Well I had no other choice but to make a pink dress. It even has a matching handbag. Don't you love the butterfly on the shoulder?

Summer in the City

Needed something new in the kids bathroom. I had a beach theme in there and we were all tired of it. One teenage boy one teenage girl, sharing a bathroom. If I had to do it over again I would have bought a house with more bathrooms. I just could not find anything that they both agreed on. This is what I came up with and surprisingly they both like it. Yeah score one for mom. That doesn't happen very often.

Paper Dress Swap

I have joined the paper dress swap over at jeweled elegance. Of course I had to start right then in making my dresses. I didn't have any paper I was thrilled with and since it was late at night I copied fabric on my copy machine and came up with this cute little thing. If you look closely at the green you can see dog hair that was on the copy machine.
Couple more. I was playing with the pattern. Katrina at LittleLaLas is my partner. She lives in Australia. I really wanted to do a Halloween dress, but who knew they don't celebrate Halloween down under. So, oh darn I guess I will have to keep the witch outfit. It's what every stylish witch will be wearing this year.

The Gift

The habit of giving only enhances the desire to give Walt Whitman

When Cindy, yapping cat( I can never get the link to work) emailed me to say she like my fluer-de-lis cone. I said girl It is yours. Well I couldn't just stop there. I love surprising people so I sent along one of my new Halloween cones. I hope she like them.

It's as girly as I get

This is what I started with. I needed a new apron. I always wear an apron. Not that I'm very domestic in the kitchen. In fact I really don't like to cook. So, do I think that the apron is going to help me enjoy cooking? NO! It is because I'm a very messy cook. I have ruined more clothes than I care to count. I love vintage aprons, but they are not very practical. I go for the butcher type.I have some that don't show the spills, and are rather forgiving. But this time I wanted something a little girly. Notice my scissors are marked fabric. If I catch anyone using them they are shot. Don't mess with my scissors. I'm happy with the way it turned out. Now you are probably thinking wow! she is tall and skinny. I wish. The model for this is my 6ft 4in, 17 year old son. Yes I said son. He will do anything for gas money. lol
