New Banner

On Polly's blog she offers free banners. After taking a mini blog class last night with Mike at Mystic Paper. I came home very inspired to tweak my blog. I played around with it until 2am. I was moaning when that darn alarm went of this morning at 6am. I could sure use a nap right about now. Next week Mike is going to show us how to do more. So check back and see if I can get real creative. I met Tanya in the class. Check out her blog. She does beautiful cross stitch samplers.

Daughter's Prom night

We will start with the shoes. 4 inch pink patten leather. She is 5'9" her date was 6'5". She is thrilled anytime she can wear heals around guys. They gave her blisters, but she kept them on the whole night.

Finally the cute couple. I never went to the prom. I wasn't allowed. Very strict father. So I have to admit I live vicariously through her at times. I was rather surprised this was the dress she picked out. I had thought she would have gone with a formal. But, as she put it I will be the only one there in a dress like this. And she was.

On a side note. I didn't realize her eyes were red until I enlarged the pics. oops

Benefit for Kary

Pam had sent the word out to all artist and crafters for contributions of hand crafted items that will be auctioned off to raise money for her sister Kary. Kary is battling cancer. I'm always so amazed how wonderfully giving everyone is and I'm so happy to contribute. Pam's pictures of the items I made are better. I mailed the package before I downloaded the pictures. Please keep Kary and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

Vintage Kitchen Swap and Tim Holtz

I received my swap goodies from Tina. Just take a look at everything she sent me. First the vintage apron. The hand carved bird stamp. The magnets are from pictures out of vintage cookbooks. The milk glass. The cobalt blue pitcher. I love cobalt blue. Thanks Tina for all the goodies. Your are a great swap partner and hostess.

Last Saturday I took 2 classes from Tim Holtz. at Mystic Paper. The above picture are from the first class. Industrial Grunge. The background is using his new line of Grunge Board. This stuff is fantastic. The kits were so full I still have enough left to make a couple more. If you ever have a chance to take a class with Tim. Run don't walk to sign up. He is awesome. He is just so darn cute and funny. His classes are incredible. I can't say enough about him. Of course I once again forgot my camera. So no pictures of everyone having a great time.

The second class, Vintage Trinkets. This class was also wonderful. I love the bird necklace. The bracelet are buttons we made from clear acrylic buttons. It is then wired onto the rubber tube. Very cleaver way of doing this and I not sure I can even explain how to do it. I'm kicking myself that I did not sign up for the third class. Elements, go to his blog and check it out. I came away so inspired. I can hardly wait to get started on some fun projects using Grunge Board

Vintage Kitchen Swap

Tina was the hostess for the Vintage Kitchen Swap and she was my partner. The colors in her kitchen are turquoise and black. Turquoise is my favorite color so this was not hard for me to find anything and everything turquoise.Above is the bird nest I made for her using an old potato masher. She also collects graters. But........the goober that I am I forgot to take pictures of the vintage goodies I sent her. I'm sure she will have then posted on her site. This is a spoon I turned into the Kitchen Queen. Along with the vintage turquoise hot pad.

Here is the first one I made. I love using these old floral frogs for display. These had been my mom's. She says hope. This seems to be my mantra lately. I hope my poor dog gets over her allergies. I hope my kids stay safe. I hope my mom is happy in her new environment. I hope my husband stays healthy and I hope I loose weight. Of course there is always I hope I win the lottery. And the list could go on.......................................

I've just been in a funk lately. So I haven't had much to say. I've been working on my swaps for The Vintage Kitchen swap. Tina is my partner and she is also the hostess. The weather here in the Phoenix area has just been wonderful. I've been trying to spend as much time as I can outside. Soon the relentless heat will be upon us. Then the summer hibernation sets in. I have a lot of ideas swimming around in my head. I'm saving them for when the heat is in full bloom. Does it sound like I hate summer? Yeah I do........ Mr. Crow has been a busy boy.
