Dog Days of Summer

What's a dog to do when it is HOT???

First she has to sunbath.

Then a couple of lap(b)s around the pool.

I hate water in my ears!!!!!

I'm going back inside to sleep on the sofa for the rest of the day.

So is the photographer..............

Where the Heck Have I Been?

I'm back...........Our trip to Calif was very hard on me. I did not feel good about leaving daughter there. She is doing okay. Not much work, but she has settled in. The trip to see my mom was very hard on me this time. She did know who my husband was the first couple of days. By the last day she had no idea who he was.
When we got back I was in a major funk. No mood to talk to anyone for about a week. I just went about my daily routine on auto pilot. That's why I have not answered any emails or responded to comments. I seemed to have had a lot of negative thoughts and did not want to burden everyone with that.
Last weekend we went to Durango, CO. I moved there in my mid 20's to ski for a winter. I ended up staying for 5 years and got married. There will always be a special spot in my heart for Durango and the La Plata Mountains. We have a long time friend who owns the Silverpick Lodge, where we stay. Our friends from the bay area came out. He and hubby have known each other since they were 13. When they get together they still act like they are 13.lol It was great fun, lots of laughs, lots of drinking, lots of food, and not a lot of sleep. We are just not as young as we used to be......lol. The Silverpick Lodge sits at about 8000 ft. My, oh my I'm a flat lander. Hiking one day I thought my lungs were going to burst. Not to mention my heart was about to beat out of my chest.

View from the front door of the lodge

View from our deck. Aah!!! Green. When you live in the desert you forget how many shades there are..

The Needles/ La Plata MountainsThe contrast between the dark pine trees and the light aspens was just breathtaking.
Silverton Co. Funky little town. We drove up there one morning for breakfast.
