Someone to Watch Over You

Remember when I said I wasn't much of a doll person. Well I take that back. They have become my new addiction. This one is for my dear friend Tracey. It is for her birthday. Her birthday isn't till May, but I couldn't wait to give it to her. She was thrilled. Tracey collects hankies, loves angels and is a devout Catholic . The dolls dress is a hankie. Her wings were from a candle holder I found at Goodwill for $1.00. Vintage buckle and rosary found at an antique mall in Scottsdale.

On This Day.......

On this day in 1954 I was born...................You do the math. Yep, I'm really that old.I know I can't believe it either. UGH!!! Happy Birthday to me!!! It is really March 18 not the 17 as the post date says.
On this day.......Carlene tagged me.Okay maybe it was a couple of days ago. You were to take a picture of yourself when you read about it on her blog. So after many attempts to get a shot of me with only a double chin instead of 3 or 4, here it is. Another UGH !!! You will all be relieved to know that won't be tagging anyone.
On this day...........This boy leaves for a month. To tour with the band he is in. He will have a blast. But, did he have to leave on his mother's birthday? UGH!!!
One this day... This girl (sister), the beautiful black dog and the fat old gal in the middle will miss this boy
When they were much younger they always wanted to have their pictures taken back to back. And they always made silly faces. Some things never change. And in this case that's a good thing.

Left Overs

When you only use the head of the doll, what's a girl to do with all the left over parts? I know she is a little on the creepy side. I like her.My family thinks I have tapped into some dark side. I attribute it to menopause. Sometimes I feel I have all this excess junk going on in my head There again menopause.Well that's my story and I sticking to it.She will have to remain in my "happy place". They (my family) don't want her coming out in public view. I told hubby she was going on his nightstand so when he woke up in the morning he would see her. lol
The above ugly apron is a project from Mystic Paper. The apron will be altered into something fabulous. The "new" aprons will be auctioned off and the proceeds will go to A Place to Bark. Check back next month to see what I have come up with. I promise no creepy baby doll heads. lol.

Meet Eliza

Another doll using the technique from Joanna's online class. All the lace, keys, small button and her nail arms I picked up in London. While in London we went to the Covent Gardens area. I loved the narrow winding street. Made me think of My Fair Lady. So I had to name her Eliza Doolittle.
On one side of her face I used the Tim Holtz crackle paint. In person it looks better. In the photo it looks a creepy looking.lolThe side without the crackle paint.
This is also from one of Joanna's online classes. I'm not real thrilled with it. I had a shortage of metal works so I rusted a wood piece from Michael's.
