Art Doll

I'm not much of a doll person. I like them, but I don't really have dolls sitting around. But there is something about Joanne's art dolls that really grab me. When I saw she was teaching an online class for her art dolls. I knew I had to give it a try.
The online class is still going on. I however, couldn't wait for the last few videos and went ahead and finished mine up. I have done enough assemblage to figure out how to attach everything. I think maybe I was a guy in a past life. I have a tendency to just do something and them go back and read the directions.....lol
I'm rather happy with the way she turned out. The little bird cage with the red bird was an earring of my mothers.
I hope Joanne gives her thumbs up. Click on each pic to enlarge.
The flowers on her face I painted on. I don't know how many I tried on paper and they just weren't looking right. Finally, I just said the heck with it and painted them on her face. I think I was putting to much thought into them.

Becky, I can't tell you how exciting it is to see your doll. She is just beautious!!! How fun that you just went for it. I'm like that too. You did a great job on the roses too. And like you said, when you let go off the paper, practicing, it just worked. That's how it is. Thank you so much for sharing.

How funny! I have been reading your blog and didn't realize we were in the same class until I saw your doll. As I said in the group, she is just amazing!

I'm working on a mechanical mermaid doll right now but I'm torn because I want to do one of these right away!

Love the doll. The flower on the face is what caught my eye. There is something to be said about adding your own spirit to a peice.

She's very cool Becky and not "doll-ish" at all!
And now I know to call you next time I can't figure out how to put something together, lol!

Hey Miss Becky!

It looks like we blog with some of the same people! LOL!!!
I'm a really bad blogger. I hardly ever get around to visiting anyone......it's all I can do to get something posted once a week....if that! :-/ Bad blogger~Bad blogger
Anyway, love your art doll and I especially love your bird that you made in Tim Holt's class. JoAnnA is a hoot! Met her last year at the ZNE conference. She cracked me up more than once! :-)
Have a great day!
