My day started with taking this class with the talented Lisa, at Mystic Paper. I didn't finish the class and left in the middle of it. I had so much going on in my head that I just couldn't wrap my mind around doing all the tags. I always feel very "tag challenged" and things were just not clicking. I need to come home spread everything out and really focus. That is what I did and I'm okay with the way it turned out. This is one of those projects I can keep adding to or taking away from. It is hard to see the dress form, but it is wire. I still have not overcome my tag phobia. We all have our hang ups......

Part of my lack of focus was brought on by daughter.......................................
Last night was Prom. She was freaking out that I would not be back to roll her hair. And in the middle of the class I remembered I had told them I would do the flowers. Oops menopause brain on overload.
Daughter being the one who has to have her own style and hates to dress like everyone else. (I like that part about her and always have encouraged it) Decided she was going to wear vintage cowboy boots with her Jessica McClintock dress. Her dad was questioning the look until he saw her. As she said I totally rocked it.

After they left, and a couple glasses wine later, I finished up the new member of the bird family. Yes I sewed the paper onto the wire wings. Did that before the wine. After I took the class with Tim Holtz I had been wanted to make another bird. A wooden bird is needed for this (you have to drill into the bird to attached the hardware) and they are hard to find, unless you are into sandpipers and gulls. Walked into TJ Maxx the other day and there he was. Only 7 bucks. Paint and hardware later he fits right in with his new friend.
Have a great week............

I think everybody had a little tag phobia going on. I think it does help to have some of your own stash to personalize them, I felt better with some of my own photos and trim.
Love your birds!
What are you going to do with your daughter? She is absolutely gorgeous!

You're right...she absolutely "rocked it". You've gotta love a girl that dances to her own tune! Love your bird and your tags.

Where to start? Your daughter is beautiful and I love, love, love her style! The tags look gorgeous and I haven't even tried to take a class despite my desire because I am so afraid of being overwhelmed. So, I getcha! Your altered bird is just amazing, both of them. I think they must be fairy bird transportation, they are so magical!

So many things to comment on....LOVE the tags. You did an awesome job, and I love the way they all overlap each other and pull my eyes in. LOVE the boots with the dress, she is adorable! And love the birdie. How clever...maybe I need to start incorporating some wine into my work! LOL.
